Chairlift - Planet Health
I saw this band open for Peter, Bjorn and John last month and was impressed enough to obtain their album through any means necessary. What I found was that their album Does You Inspire You is a pretty ok debut. This 80’s styled track is notable for its inclusion of the bass line from John Cougar Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane” and has a synth sound reminiscent of Berlin’s Top Gun theme “Take My Breath Away”. But the real point of all this is the gorgeous chorus that does the 80’s obsession with Japanese culture proud.
