The Perceptionists - Love Letters
The best rappers from Boston luckily found each other and combined forces to become the Perceptionists, and we are all the better for it. MCs Akrobatik and Mr. Lif showcase their complimentary styles expertly on this sweet-ass Willie Evans Jr. production. Akrobatik usually gets the lead verse and here is no different as he wraps his tightly manicured flow around the track’s supple bassline and drum track. I love the line, “you’re good with the kids and got none of your own”. Mr. Lif is considered to be the stronger and more abstract MC of the two, and it is quite apparent on this song, despite my substantial love of Ak’s lead-off verse.
